Victorian University Expo at UTAS
On June 4th, a range of different Victorian universities will be represented at an expo held at UTAS.
For any Year 12 students wanting to learn more about Victorian universities, we strongly recommend you attend this session.
The session will run from 9.30 am - 11.00am

University College visits TFS
A representative from University College at The University of Melbourne will be visiting Friends’ on Thursday 2 May at 10.30 am in W116. Hear about the student accommodation options at University College.
UAC Application dates
The application date for the University Admission Centre (UAC), for NSW and ACT, for 2024 IB and interstate Year 12 applicants is after 1 August 2024. UAC will only have access to your student ID details after this date. You can sign into UAC You will also need:

Youth Parliament - 2024
Are you interested in politics and government?
Would you like to develop your skills in advocacy, your understanding of democratic processes, and your knowledge of local and global political issues?
Consider signing up to Youth Parliament. This is a week-long program for Tasmanian students in Years 10, 11 and 12. Throughout the week you will take part in workshops, speaker panels, policy development exercises, and social activities as well as debate bills that you will draft and later present to the Tasmanian Parliament.
The program is held at Parliament House with accommodation at the Lea Scout Centre from 14th to 20th July.

BiG Day In
Are you interested in learning about opportunities in the IT industry or where a STEM/STEAM career can take you?
BiG Day In events are for year 9-12 school students to explore careers in technology. The 2024 BiG Day In, Tasmania is scheduled for June 5, 2024

AGFEST 2024
Interested in travelling up to Carrick to attend this years Agfest?
This excursion is run on Thursday 2 May 2024, the first week of Term 2.
Agfest is an agricultural field day with representatives from agricultural-focused universities and industries.

FUTURE DOCTORS AUSTRALIA
The "Future Doctors Australia" program is an engaging and high-impact 4-day program that provides young people with a unique opportunity to gain medical work experience in a safe and structured environment. Participants will be able to spend time with current junior and senior medical students. They will also have the rare opportunity to spend time with more senior clinicians and various medical specialists. Police Recruiting Program
The Career Development Program (CDP) is a program aimed at Year 12 students from around Tasmania who have a keen interest in becoming a police officer. It is a free, five day program during which students stay at the Tasmania Police Academy, Rokeby and experience what is required of a trainee police officer. This is not a camp and is for those students who desire policing as a career.
As a part of this program students will undertake the Tasmania Police fitness testing and written examinations. Those students who are successful will progress through to an interview and possible inclusion on a recruit training course at the completion of their Year 12 studies.
The two programs in July and the Sept/Oct program still have some available spots if students would like to nominate for them.
7 – 12 July 2024 – spots available
14 - 19 July 2024 – spots available
30 September 24 – 4 October 2024 – spots available
